Gino Borowicz, owner of Gino’s Jewelers, has been Gino Borowicz, owner of Gino’s Jewelers is one of the long-term record holders on San Clemente’s main street. He has been in business at that same location for 30 years!
Repairs are Gino’s specialty, watches, earrings, pendants, necklaces, and rings. And he even replaces batteries in the tiniest of electronic gadgets.
Gino will take your item, open it or peek at it, and usually ask if you can wait a few minutes. Then he goes into the back of his store, bends over a tiny jewelry vise, looks through a monster magnifying glass, or loupe, and may pour through some battery charts. Before you know it, he’s back, with the diamond now firmly affixed in my wife’s engagement ring, my watch running again, a new clasp on a necklace, or two new (but weird-sized) batteries in my credit-card-sized emergency shaver. My wife and I have personally only stumped Gino once, as over the years he has seen most anything that can be thrown at him.
Gino Borowicz says that he can repair 95% of all jewelry problems, and I believe it. He also does original custom work, designing rings and most everything else you’d call “jewelry” from scratch. He’s got walls and counters full of nice, shiny pretty things for sale, from diamond rings, bracelets and earrings, to magnificently colored glass vases. There’s a wide line of Citizen brand watches, too.
With 30 years experience Gino can be called an expert in checking, repairing and designing your jewelry. You can take your whole jewelry box into Gino’s with no worries, it’s obvious he’s not going anywhere soon.
