Zero Waste Lecture
Join us in this open-forum to explore and discuss critical topics with global thought leaders. This month's Basic Needs lecture features Josh Prigge, Sustainability Manager at Fetzer Wines.
In 2014, human society generated 11.5 billion tons of waste, including hazardous materials. Spread 1 inch deep, it would cover 80% of the planet. Nature has generated none.
By following nature's model, human society can produce continuous life sustaining abundance for all, while generating no waste. It is possible and necessary! Join us to learn how ZeroWaste can be achieved at the individual, community, business level and beyond. Josh Prigge will be discussing the company's commitment to zero waste, which began in 1990, the innovative waste reduction practices at Fetzer Vineyards, and how a comprehensive zero waste program has engaged and motivated employees. He will also touch on how the company has upheld this commitment to sustainability and, at the same time, found cost savings and increased revenue.
