Larry Leisz moved to the area in 1985, first purchasing a home in San Juan Capistrano and then moving to San Clemente. He and his wife, Jenny were CPA’s and had careers in accounting. However, thirty-five years ago Larry decided to switch careers. He obtained his real estate license and began selling homes in San Clemente in 1989. Jenny remained in the world of numbers, recently retiring from South Coast Water District where she was the Finance Director for several years. They currently own one of the historic Ole Houses in town. Larry is an active member of San Clemente’s Elk Lodge. One of his ‘give backs’ to the community is dressing up as Santa Claus. As Santa Claus he has been available for photo ops with youngsters at Fisherman’s and BeachFire restaurants.

The Team Centurion award, given to the Leisz Team, based on their closed sales volume for 2023 and 2024.
This writer had the pleasure of sitting down at a local coffee shop on Del Mar one morning to chat with their son, Joey, who was born and raised here. Joey attended California State University – Channel Islands. After graduation from college he remained in Camarillo for about 18 months. He worked for a clothing line doing all their social media, attending events and working with a lot of the brand’s different artists. Nine years ago he decided to return to his roots in San Clemente, joining the family business. Larry had been an independent agent for over 25 years, so after Joey obtained his real estate license, he thought it would be a good idea to form a team of agents. This would allow them to provide buyers and sellers with more individual attention for their needs whether investing, purchasing or selling a property. Larry had the accounting/financial background, so although he is no longer working as a licensed CPA, he knows the nuances of real estate transactions which proves to be very helpful for the team. Joey had his experience with marketing and social media to bring to the table.
They rounded out the team with Will Ting and Jeff Carron who each brought their individual expertise to the group. Will is trilingual, speaking Japanese, Chinese and English fluently. He has been an international businessman in Europe, Asia and South America which helps give him an edge and added insight with overseas clients. If you watch one of the Leisz team's YouTube marketing videos you will find out that Jeff has a great sense of humor, is kind and apparently understands millennials.

Jeff and his wife of 36 years moved to San Clemente in 2013. He has been selling real estate for 10 years. He has two kids and recently became a grandpa. He puts a lot of focus on listening to his client’s requirements, being honest and caring. He loves San Clemente, with its sleepy surf town atmosphere. He says, “location, location, location.” He is looking forward to spending days at the beach with his granddaughter, loves music, and plays the drums in his spare time.
Joey is focused on mentoring upcoming agents as he was mentored by more experienced agents when he started out in real estate. He uses his marketing background to promote and present the town as a whole, not just a place to purchase a house. He wants each client to feel as if they are the only client. A lot of buyers come from out of the area to purchase a home, so he and the team want to introduce them to their families, favorite restaurants, shops and dentists, etc., basically the whole integrated lifestyle of living in the Spanish Village by the Sea.
The team sells properties as far north as LA and extends their know-how south to San Diego. However, much of their fun marketing is “out of the box” YouTube videos and Instagram account focus on living and working in San Clemente. The videos are fun with their business acumen mixed in with the four distinct personalities and a side of humor, while the Instagram account posts lots of sunsets, the pier and other scenes around town to promote the cool aspects of living in this town.
In addition to selling homes and promoting this beautiful town the Leisz team is dedicated to giving back to the community through volunteering and hosting fundraisers. Joey works with the teen group at Pacific Coast Church and is a member of the San Clemente Rotary. Jeff offered an open space where he lives near Linda Lane Park for an event they have held three years in a row, Cornhole de Mayo on Cinco de Mayo. Corner Escrow and their Lending Partners helped put it all together with food and silent auction items. The proceeds were split evenly between Pet Project Foundation and San Clemente Rotary. They also hosted a huge event, Pets for Pints with Los Molinos brewery with the funds raised also going to the Pet Project Foundation which supports the Dana Point/San Clemente No Kill Animal Shelter.
Joey still loves to surf and gets out for a couple sessions in the waves each week. He and his wife, Sydney, a college professor, have two very young children, a little girl, Wren, eighteen months and a baby boy, Reid, nine months.
