Beach Trail Pedestrian Bridge at Montalvo Temporarily Closing for Repair

Sep 24, 2024 11:11AM ● By Don Kindred

he Montalvo Bridge will be closed from October 7 until November 1, 2024.

9/24/2024 The Beach Trail pedestrian bridge at Montalvo is in need of repair. Due to exposure to the highly corrosive marine environment, the existing coating (paint) on Montalvo Pedestrian bridge has reached the end of its service life, and will continue to corrode without any corrective action. The treatment and coating of this pedestrian bridge is expected to extend its service life.

The Montalvo Bridge will be closed from October 7 until November 1, 2024. During this time, Trail users are encouraged to use local surface streets or the beach to navigate the area. Pedestrian detour routes are detailed in the attached map.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as the City works toward repairing this section of the Beach Trail. Project information and updates are available at: www.san-clemente.org/projects.
