Ten years ago the City of San Clemente and the San Clemente Chamber of Commerce wanted to honor the many great surfers and shapers of the surf industry who had once called San Clemente home. Over the years the original 21 banners had all but disappeared; either faded, ripped or stolen from the light standards along El Camino Real south of the 5 Freeway.
Last Monday night the original names had been reprinted and installed along the street with the addition of 3 new banners, two belonged to our San Clemente Olympians Kolohe Andino and Caroline Marks, and a third for renown surfer and shaper, Bill Stewart.
