My Mother’s Eyes by Diane Gallegos

I looked into my mother’s
eyes and saw a mother’s
Love

I looked into my mother’s
eyes and saw a mother’s
Pride

I looked into my mother’s eyes
And saw a reflection of me

Things she did not teach me
Yet now I know
Things she could not tell me
From the lips of others did flow

All that really matters, now
I know; When I look into my
mother’s eyes and see the love
I feel

I could write a book about
what I see when I look into
my mother’s eyes.

When I look into my Mother’s
and see serenity not
giving in or giving up but
willing to let it be.

When I look into my Mother’s
eyes, I see forgiveness there
for all that caused her pain.

When I look into my mother’s eyes
I see contentment, there is no
room for hatred, blame or despair.

Things that were a mystery to
me; I looked into my mother’s
eyes and there I found the key.

When I looked into my
mother’s eyes I knew
God was everywhere
I’m sure I saw HIM there!
