Humanity: lost in the world of Artificial Intelligence

by Monique Runge

Over the years, many of us have built a trusted relationship with professionals that can provide the best advice to serve our financial and insurance needs: stockbroker, accountant, banker, and insurance agent. A relationship is the way we are connected which requires an investment in one another.

Stockbrokers are now mostly financial planners (CFP) focusing on creating and analyzing financial plans based upon long-term goals. Many Americans change employers during their working years and have orphaned retirement accounts that are not being properly managed, needing advice.

Software programs such as Turbo Tax enable self-prepared tax returns eliminating the need for an accountant. Often, I find errors when reviewing self-prepared tax returns and automated insurance renewals when preparing a financial analysis for mortgage financing.

Many American banks and credit unions have reduced their overhead down to ATM locations and one full-service branch open within a 10-mile radius. Even as a mortgage broker, most people no longer desire to meet me in person, look me in the eye and shake my hand. I miss it honestly, being able to connect with clients on a personal level.

In today’s environment, all those services and advisors have been replaced with internet software and Artificial Intelligence “AI” that automates many services with zero HUMAN contact or communication.

We are all being monitored and accounted for in everything we do with a cookie trail left every day on what we watch, read, or click on our electronic devices connected to the internet. My empathy is for the silent generation and some reluctant boomers who can’t navigate well in today’s environment. The reality is the new technology IS making life easier by enabling automation to process transactions faster without having to leave the comfort and safety of home.

There still ARE many TRUSTED professionals that are working hard to serve their clients’ needs with personalized service and quality advice. Many financial professionals with a commitment to serving clients’ needs with HUMANITY!

HUMANITY:  The individual caring for and helping others whenever and wherever possible.
If you feel that you have lost touch with “Your” trusted advisor(s), I encourage you to reach out, pick up the phone and take a pulse on that relationship to determine if they are still investing in YOU, the client. Ask the questions you might have for the coming year end. Follow your gut and intuition from the conversation to conclude if that relationship is still strong and in your best interest. Do it before the holidays come rolling around so you can be best prepared to head in to 2024 with clarity and fiscal health.

Do you need a referral in any area of business, let me know.  I partner with the best in their business who provide ethical and valuable advice and services to suit Clients’ needs.  Do you have any questions for me? Please reach out and I will personally respond.
Let’s Stay Human!
