4th ANNUAL SC OPEN Skateboard Tournament Saturday, September 11th

     The San Clemente Recreation Division and the Friends of San Clemente Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation are co-sponsoring the 4th Annual Skateboard Tournament at the San Clemente Ralphs Skate court located in Richard T. Steed Memorial Park. This Skateboard Tournament is open to boys and girls ranging in age from seven years and under through adult, both amateur and “sponsored”. The event, set for Saturday, September 11,2004 will start at 8am and run all day. We are pleased to announce as emcee of the event the legendary overall world champion skateboarder, Tony Alva, one of the original Z-Boys, whose life story was made into a documentary called "Dogtown." Participants including the professional skaters for the demo are required to wear the proper safety equipment: Helmet, knee and elbow pads. Registration deadline: Registration closes one week prior to event and must be received by 5pm, Monday, September 20, as spaces are limited per age category. On-site registration will be based upon availability only. Registration will begin at 7am the day of the event. Other activities slated for this event are Professional Skateboard demonstrations, a vendor fair, food and beverages, entertainment and music, and community service information. b

Fee: $25
