San Clemente Scrapbook - Summer 2006


Mick at the mic in the middle of the beach, made for a great Thursday afternoon concert on July 24th. The series is sponsored by the Beaches, Parks and Recreation Foundation.


On May 20 & 21, 13,000 bikers met “The Challenge”. The first annual San Clemente Challenge allowed bike riders a tour of Camp Pendleton for up to 80 miles, including the timed hill climb, shown above.


The San Clemente Historical Society met at the Blue Danube , the site of San Clemente’s first Jail House. Adelaine Antonio, Director speaks to the standing-room only crowd on June 22.


Candy Haggard celebrates her retirement from the County of Orange with some old friends at Sally & Don Jeisy’s home in San Clemente on July 27th.

Fred Divel offers a toast at the Casa Romantica, to celebrate the life of his father, San Clemente Patriarch, Don Divel, who passed away this year. Don’s wife, Lois Divel at left.


The 1st Annual“Memorial Madness 2006” Basketball Tournament raised $1,550 for the 3 Point Club, a group that supports the San Clemente High School basketball program. The winners, above, Todd Spath , Nick Benedetto, Roger Furlong and Tod Bryant.
