Seed Saving Techniques and Seed Swap

Join us to learn about seed saving techniques and how to preserve strains adapted to your growing conditions. Bring heirloom seeds to swap! Seed saving is far more than a quick and easy eco act. Seed saving is quickly becoming a necessity. In just one generation, we've lost much of our agricultural diversity due to a variety of factors, including corporate monoculture farms and the increased use of standardized hybrid seeds. This workshop covers the importance of seed saving for preserving cultural heritage, preserving strains adapted to your growing conditions, and hands-on seed harvesting and seed saving techniques. Bring any heirloom seeds to share with your gardening community and take home seeds and the tools to grow your own! The Ecology Center is a non-profit educational center that teaches hands-on environmental solutions at the household and community scale. Your participation supports our programs and our mission to inspire and create a healthy and sustainable future for all. *Become an Advocate of The Ecology Center to receive member discounts. Plus, after you complete 5 workshops and 5 eco actions, you are eligible to receive 1 free workshop! Join Us
