Wildlflower Harvesting and Arranging

Backyard Skills

Get creative with wildflower floral designs! Join us for a hands-on workshop learning sustainable wildcrafting techniques and floral arranging. If food is for nourishment, water for refreshment and air for respiration, then flowers are for the soul. This workshop is about learning to let go about the rules that have been previously set in the flower arranging world and instead, looking to nature to tell a story. We will be using local flowers along with foraged grasses, weeds (that's right!), branches and herbs to put together 1 - 2 arrangements, using nature as our guide. Every arrangement made will tell a story, your story. Incredibly freeing and rather meditative, this workshop will give us an opportunity to slow down and observe nature in abundance all around us, wild and free. Every flower tells a story, and thus every arrangement can as well. Taking from nature only what we need, admiring the beauty of the flowers while in bloom, and finally returning the arrangements pass their prime to the compost pile to be returned back to the earth and to help nourish new life.
