The YMCA of Orange County will host their first annual “Ride 4 Healing” event at its Newport-Mesa location. The event aims to bring peace and hope to people around the community who have experienced any sort of trauma in their lives. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in cycling in teams as they ride 300 miles – the distance to Las Vegas - on a stationary cycle. During the event, guests will have the opportunity to hear from motivational speakers, including the YMCA’s own Jimmy Lessard, a survivor of the Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting, participate in self-defense and yoga classes that promote healing from the inside out and in therapeutic art classes provided by the nonprofit Crime Survivors. The funds raised during the event will directly support the YMCA Scholarship Program and the nonprofit Crime Survivors.
