Corey Angeli: Local Teen Supporting and Promoting COA

Sixteen-year-old, Corey Angeli, has spent over half his life singing and playing tennis and has been using his musical talents and tennis skills to help support and promote COA; a non-profit organization in San Clemente that provides activities for those choosing a healthy lifestyle.

As a member of the San Clemente High School COA club, Corey plans to be a big part of this organization throughout his high school years, and as a music and tennis intern for the club, during the summer he will be teaching guitar and giving tennis lessons to teens on Mondays 5-6pm and Wednesdays 5-6:30pm.

Corey’s tennis credits include participation on the SCHS boys varsity tennis team; South Coast League Champions for the eighth straight year. As a second season participant playing # 1 singles Corey has remained undefeated in league play thus far, and along with winning the South Coast League doubles championships two years in a row, has been named Most Inspirational Player.

Of over 300 musical performances at a variety of venues all over Southern California, about 10 of Corey’s performances this past year have been at COA music outreaches. In April, Corey and others performed at the OC Market Place- COA’s Taste of the Arts. At these music outreaches, the COA performers announce some of the many activities the organization offers and have flyers available to help increase its exposure.

This summer in San Clemente, four of the performances Corey has scheduled featuring COA performers are: the Market at North Beach, Outlets at San Clemente, the Ocean Festival and the Fiesta Music Festival. And the first Friday of each month usually finds him at COA’s open mic night, which is held at The Venue, on Calle Negocio in San Clemente.

Corey is one of 20 teens signed up for Thrive Alive –a six-week teen prevention/leadership program that includes activities and a mentor. COA is looking to partner with sponsors, local businesses, and individuals to make donations and to help create more opportunities like this for San Clemente’s youth seeking healthy alternatives to drugs and addiction. b
